Richup.io is a web-based board game in which you purchase properties and build your financial empire against other players. It is an alternative to the Monopoly game.
In the game, all players start with the same amount of cash ($1500). Each player rolls the dice to move forward. Once one landed on a property, it can be purchased, and other players that’ll land on this property will have to pay its owner. Once you own all properties in a group, you can start upgrading them by building houses and hotels. The more houses or hotels you have in a property, the more a player will pay you once it lands on it. Your goal is to own as many properties as you can, and to stay the last player afloat.
How to play Richup.io
On your turn, roll the dice. You may land on properties or other special tiles – each one has its own functionality. For example, if you landed on a “Surprise” tile, you’ll receive a surprise card! It might beneficial or disadvantageous. As you might have understood by now, Richup.io is a game about luck and strategy.
At first, purchase as most properties as you can. Then, try to own all properties in a “property group” (country). That way you’ll be able to start building houses and hotels in those properties, making your ownership much more valuable.
You can trade with other players, in order to exchange properties, cash, and bonus cards. If you happen to own something that another player wants, or if another player owns something you’d wish to have, just create a trade. Trades can be negotiated, and all players can view all trades, so everyone knows what’s going on.
Save your cash. You can’t continue playing with a negative amount of money! In that case, you’ll have to start downgrading or even selling properties, or trade with other players who might be glad to exchange properties with you.
You might also get familiar with the Jail, that although sounds terrifying, is not a bad place after all. You can spend as much as 3 turns in jail, in which you can still charge other players that land on your properties. If you don’t want to stay in jail, you can pay $50 on your turn to get out.
Plan your strategy. After you purchase some properties, make up your mind of your goals in the game. Think which properties you want to own, and fight for it. Communicating with other players while playing is a key to success in Richup.io.
Controls
Richup.io is by-design simple to play, and it supports all browsers. Just use your mouse to roll the dice, purchase properties, trade with other players, etc. You can also chat with your opponents, so you can plan trades and negotiations together.
You can click any property on the board to see its list of payments. That’s the place where you can upgrade your properties – Once you own a property, you’ll have an “upgrade” and a “downgrade” buttons after clicking on it.
You can either join public game rooms or create your private room.
